Fashion Week (AMFW) 2012.
Highlights from the ongoing Arise Magazine Fashion Week (AMFW)2012 which started on Tuesday 6th March 2012 and is set to end today, 11th March 2012 at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. Based on popular demand, the Arise team decided to hit Nigeria again this year after the huge success recorded in last year's show. This year is even bigger, featuring 77 designers from six continents, with House of Tara as official make-up company for the event, designing, coordinating and styling make-up looks for the entire runway event.
Things didn’t pan out the way they were supposed to on Day 2 of Arise Magazine Fashion Week. After hours of fittings and planning, issues with the power generators and some model mutiny meant that no actual runway shows took place.
That said, it was still an exciting day with lots of buzz!
There were likes of Face of Africa; Oluchi Orlandi, Big brother winner, Uti Nwachukwu, MNET 53 extra presenter, Eku Edewor, Former Miss Tanzania;Millen Magese, Elite Model Look 2010 and New Face of the Year Award winner Chika Emmanuella and 2011 Elite Model look winner Chinwe Ejere, Face of Sleek 2009 Makida Moka and a host of others as models. Artists like Naeto C, Davido and W4 also performed. The Nigerian designers include; Jewel By Lisa, Lanre da Silva Ajayi, Bridget Awosika, Mai Atafo, Maki-Oh, Tiffany Amber, Vonne Couture, Meena by Uju Offia, Hazel Aggrey-Orleans, Frank Osodi, House of Divas and a host of others.
Be sure to check back for more as the AMFW final segment rounds up today. Designers like Vonne Couture, Nkwo and Jewel by Lisa promises to dazzle the audience with their wonderful pieces. And we hope the Arise team will bring it on next season with even more heat than they came with. Enjoy the pictures
